MY REVIEW OF THE RECIPE FROM “THE 30-DAY CANDIDA CLEANSE“
Coconut-Almond Waffles
(3 out of 3) – Loved it!
Suggested Changes: Add more cinnamon for more flavor. Add carob chips for more sweetness (like a chocolate chip waffle).
Review: The flavor is bland, and will not curb your craving for a syrupy breakfast, but it’s still really good, and I love the texture. The coconut gives it this nice grittiness and the waffles come out really chewy which is my favorite. It’s nice to have the waffles to munch on throughout the day too. I look at them as more of a slice of bread to munch on rather than a breakfast food. And when I add carob chips to the mix it makes it a nice dessert snack at night or when I’m craving chocolate.
I got my super cute new Waffle Maker from Amazon that I just love. The recipe said you can just make pancakes with the batter if you don’t have a waffle maker, but I was excited for the excuse to finally get one. 🙂
The neat thing about this recipe was, since you aren’t supposed to have any sweeteners or sugar or whatnot, pouring maple syrup is out. So the recipe said to put a dollop of plain greek yogurt on top of the waffle, with some shredded coconut sprinkled on top. I thought it would be weird…
but it was delicious!
Just so you know…
I’m not trying to trick you with these links and reviews or am a paid person lying for some product or company. I am just a regular person who’s struggling with a chronic illness, so I thought I’d give this recipe book a try. I’m linking to things for your reference if you’d like to look into this stuff more, but I have no affiliation with any of these items and am not getting paid or have any special code embedded into the links that gives me a credit if you buy something or any of that sneaky stuff.
Just putting this stuff out there for me so I can remember it (cuz Lyme Disease has totally killed my short term memory), and for you in case it’s helpful too! 🙂
